REBECCA CORRY SPEAKS AT LOS ANGELES DA PRESS CONFERENCE

A lot of great words were spoken at the press conference and to see the DA taking animal abuse so seriously promising to prosecute abusers to the fullest extent of the law provides a glimmer of hope at a time when Los Angeles animals so desperately need it. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a voice for the dogs in Los Angeles today (especially suffering Skid Row dogs). It’s beyond horrifying how bad things have gotten, how long it’s been allowed to happen and how apathetic our society is about it. It was encouraging to hear law enforcement and the DA repeat “those who commit crimes against animals also commit crimes against people.” I truly believe if/when everyone understands how profoundly important that fact is, things will begin to change and people will start to care. Thank you Ashley Livesay and Andrea Pett for coming today and for your unwavering dedication to the cause and these magical dogs. Thank you to the DA’s office for inviting me to speak and of course Todd for being so sweet and loving to everyone as usual.
Every effort and voice matters and there is power in numbers. Please everyone – the time is now to get involved however and whenever you can. There are countless lives depending on it. Thank you.
-Rebecca Corry – Executive Director
