I never stop being amazed the power these dogs have.

These pieces of art were done by a young man named Amos. A dear friend of mine and philanthropist doing great work in Kenya told Amos about Angel, Sally, and Todd when she was last there. Amos then asked if he could draw them. While in NYC for Stand Up For Pits my friend brought me the drawings. I finally have a real moment to reflect on them and what it took for Amos to draw them. It took him a long time to do, and they are absolutely beautiful.

Dogs are and always have been the best advocates. Their authenticity and inherent goodness are undeniable. Their loves and stories live on long after they are gone which is a testament to how powerful their sentience truly is. They are lights in a very dark world, and they do it without even trying.

I’m love how touched he was by them and for using his gift to create them. When things like this happen, I can’t help but believe it’s bigger than us – or anything we know or can comprehend.

Amos just got accepted into medical school in Kenya. I’ve never met him and likely never will, but I could not be prouder of him and will be eternally grateful for him taking the time – on the other side of the world – to bring Angel, Sally, and Todd to light through his art.
