This right here is what a velvet house hippo looks like living the good life and being adored beyond measure. Sadly, Izzy has decided she does not care for her hippo brother Enzo. Over the past two weeks she has become more reactive towards Enzo. So, her adopters and all of us agree it would be in the best interest of Izzy and Enzo to rehome her. Everyone is of course disappointed and heartbroken, and her adopters have gone above and beyond to responsibly integrate Izzy and grow the relationship between Izzy and Enzo, but Izzy is not having it. Sometimes a dog may choose to not like another dog and that’s okay. The great news is, they are spending this week having fun with this glorious baked potato until she goes back to her foster. These incredible people bought her some stairs and taught her how to get in the car with them, and they will be teaching her to swim this week too!
Izzy has made it clear she is dog selective, and we are going to respect that and do whatever she needs. We are here for her along with our friends at Orange County Pit Bull Rescue and we will see to it a perfect home for Izzy is found. We cannot thank Izzy’s adopters enough for their love and patience with this hippo and to Christine and Orange County Pit Bull Rescue for being team Izzy with us! Part of responsible rescue is having resources when things like this occur and being able to seamlessly handle it – which they have done like the professionals they are. This is a little bump in the road for Izzy girl. After all she’s been through and overcome this is nothing. Now we need to all remain dedicated to getting her seen. Please take a moment to share this sweet girl and if you’d like to adopt her – contact Orange County Pit Bull Rescue to fill out an application. She is in Los Angeles, spayed, up to date on shots, loves car rides, good on leash, some dogs, sunbathing, eating food, playing with toys, being a hippo and wearing tutus!

HUGE thanks to her incredible fosters. Such great people with giant hearts. If anyone is looking to become a foster with a great rescue, please contact Orange County Pit Bull Rescue TODAY! Fosters are always needed. Thank you!
