SUFFERING FOR ANIMALS CONTINUES IN LOS ANGELES

ANYONE who contributes to or is complicit is the suffering or killing of animals should be held accountable. “NO KILL” LA is a joke. The shelter is not a safe place to bring a dog and if the shelters in one of America’s biggest and richest cities is “underfunded” and/or “understaffed” then FUCKING CHANGE IT. Stop acting like nothing can be done. Enough of the stupid statements about “investigations.” There is nothing to investigate. A two year old can see what’s happening to animals in Los Angeles and know it’s wrong and intolerable. New legislation isn’t needed, the fucking laws in place need to be enforced NOW! It’s not that hard yet things continue to get worse for the animals and rescue community because NO ONE CARES.

Last year we got HSUS to join us in offering to help abused dogs on Skid Row. Staycee Dains declined. SUFP has been trying to help with Spay & Neuter since Brenda Barnette was GM and again NOTHING. I wrote a petition that garnered thousands of signatures and still Mayor Karen Bass won’t address this horrific crisis happening in Los Angeles and the “leaders” who say they cannot and will not remove suffering animals from homeless people makes them COMPLICIT and no better than the abusers themselves. They 100% can remove suffering animals because it is their FUCKING JOB TO PROTECT THE ANIMALS IN THEIR CITY and it is the LAW to remove dogs from abusers. Dains called me “unhinged” in a meeting where I was respectfully offering solutions and resources to help save lives and make her job easier and I don’t get days off or paid leave of absense. I was also referred to as a “grandstander” by another large organization. They told people to ignore the cries, stated they support Dains all while SUFP funded thousands in medical care for pit bull type dogs who were victims of severe abuse on Los Angeles streets. It’s pathetic and shameful that those who speak up are called “unhinged” and “grandstanders” while offering to help suffering animals. These people don’t deserve their positions of power over helpless sentient beings and I will never stop voicing my opinion while offering solutions and serving my community. They can all fuck off.
